Lookin' For Branson

8:00 AM

My college friends and I had a saying when we saw a car full of old people (or any car, really) driving slow.  We'd say they were "looking for Branson."  If you've ever been to Branson, then you know exactly what I'm talking about.

I went to college in Springfield, MO, just about 30 miles north of Branson.  My friends and I made many trips to Branson during our college days.  It was a nice getaway from the college scene, getting swept up in a sea of families and old people, only to find it annoying an hour later and head back to campus.

This week I was one of those families vacationing in Branson.   It wasn't quite "tourist season" yet, making it a perfect time to visit.  Katherine enjoyed the indoor water park, and sort of looked at the toys at the World's Largest Toy Museum.

And no Branson trip is complete without a Jason/Angela putt-putt tournament, which always ends in someone being super mad.  I had a strong lead in night one, beating Jason by one.  We tied on day two, and day three Jason came back to win by one.  We are very competitive about putt-putt.  Mainly because I usually win.  I can't help it.  I have a gift.

{I've been putt-putting here for years!  One of my favorite courses ever.}
 I've probably been to the indoor putt-putt course at Grand Country a dozen times over the years.  It's one of my favorites ever.  It's cheesey and fun and indoors, meaning you can go any day of the year! We hit up a couple new courses in addition to my old favorite.
{Disclaimer:  We don't take selfies.  Really.}
Before heading home, we stopped by Missouri State to take a picture with the bear.  My future little student loved it.

It was a great trip, but I'm happy to be back home just in time for tourist season here in St. Louis.
