"Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more"
7:30 AM"'It came without ribbons! It came without tags!
It came without packages, boxes or bags!"
And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before!
"Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store.
"Maybe Christmas....perhaps....means a little bit more!"'
We had an unconventional Christmas this year. With our house half empty and our impending move, it was hard to keep the Christmas spirit through all of the stress, but Christmas came anyway. It came even though our house wasn't beautifully decorated from floor to ceiling. It came even with our tiny "Charlie Brown" tree in the corner, and with the conservative amount of gifts sitting under it.
We hosted Christmas Eve lunch surrounded by boxes, and left Santa cookies on a paper plate and noodles for Rudolph (Katherine has gotten it in her head that reindeer eat noodles.....I don't know.....). Our Christmas Eve tradition has been to have breakfast for dinner, so this year since our plates and pots and pans were all boxed up, we went to Denny's for dinner. This is where Katherine ordered her own food all by herself: Rudolph pancakes. Then, it was home and off to bed.
Christmas morning brought surprises and toys, followed by lunch and more toys at Mimi's and Grandpa's. Katherine got her very own bedding for her very own big girl bed. She was super stoked.

In the next 4 days we'll be moving out of our house, dividing our things between our storage unit and my parents' house, where we will be living temporarily. I'm so ready for this move to be over, but I'm more than ready to find our next house. Next Christmas, I hope to be filling our new house with love and laughter!
